SIPTEC ECOTEC Panels are manufactured with a High Quality Mineral based fibreglass reinforced building board facing bringing exceptional strength and properties to our SIPs,
The EcoTec facing is classified as NON Combustible and has a zero smoke and flame rating.
The panel facing has a smooth white finish ready to accept paint or direct application on to External Walls, Polymer/Vinyl -Coloured render systems. The Eco Tec Panel is completely Waterproof, it does not swell and will resist freeze thaw conditions therefore combating the growth of mold & mildew It is therefore suitable for construction in wet areas.
The SIPTEC ECOTEC ECOLOGICAL CREDENTIALS
The facings are manufactured to a unique formula of waste wood, natural minerals and water, they do not contain any solvent cement , oils, metal or toxic substance. The production process does not use any energy whatsoever. The manufacturing process is simple and does not offgas greenhouse gasses. All off cuts and reject panels are reground and returned to production hence NO WASTE.
The Eco Tec Facing is Inert and will not harm the environment, as it is a natural mineral product it can be safely returned to the environment in landfill without any contamination of the ground or water courses.

Oriented Strand Board OSB3 is a engineered wood panel produced from sustainable timber resources, assembled with PIR adhesive, it has good moisture resistance, no off gassing, good screw & nail retention and has a certified life expectancy better than 60 years, in all a superior product to the ply wood we used to produce sips with 20 years ago.
In our opinion the practice of applying polymer renders (acrylic plastics) direct to OSB sip facings is ill advised, there are many documented cases in the USA of OSB and plywood facings rotting out after stucco was applied externally.
OSB 4 is classed as waterproof, we have found this product to be even more water resistant than marine plywood!

Has a class O building board facing, with excellent fire resistance, impervious to water and is rot & frost resistant, it is a good substrate to apply polymer render directly onto. Siptec developed this panel to address all the fire resistant issues continually raised with OSB faced panels, tile for bathrooms etc can be directly applied to the panel, internally tiles can be directly applied to the panel facing, externally a sand cement render will require a GRP mesh fixing to the face. This sip is a little heavier than OSB, it does everything a standard OSB Panel can do EXCEPT
BURN – ROT- DOES NOT ABSORB WATER & TERMITES DON’T EAT IT

Developed to over come all of the criticisms we have heard about Sips over the years.
The facings are ECO-BIO COMPATIBLE, Electrics & Plumbing can safely be rebated into the 50 mm thick facing, Cement render can be directly applied with out fear of cracking or falling off. There is an alternative load path for those engineers who dont understand how sip panels work. Connection methods for this system ensure there are NO THERMAL BRIDGES.
